The Camel Husk is a neutral mob in Minecraft, which means it ignores players until it is provoked, and only then turns aggressive.
Look for the Camel Husk across the Overworld; it is tied to Desert.
Its defining trait is simple: sits, stands and dashes like a living camel, takes a saddle and carries two riders, but it belongs to the zombie family and stays that way.
Stat-wise it sits at 32 health (16 hearts), dropping 1 to 3 experience on death.
The Camel Husk has been part of the game since version 1.21.11.
The Camel Husk sits in a useful middle ground, harmless if you respect it, but a real threat if you provoke it, which makes reading the situation important.
Spawning
In the wild, the Camel Husk is generated in Desert.
Arrives under a rider: a husk in the desert can turn up sitting on one, and that is the way you normally meet it.
Left alone far from any player, wild camel husks eventually despawn, so use a name tag if you want a specific one to stick around.
Since it only turns hostile when provoked, you can usually walk among camel husks safely as long as you avoid hitting one.

Behavior & Combat
In the field, sits, stands and dashes like a living camel, takes a saddle and carries two riders, but it belongs to the zombie family and stays that way. A rabbit foot is what it will follow.
At 0.09 it is 70th of 72 for speed, just below the sniffer at 0.1.
It has no melee attack of its own, so the damage figure above is about contact damage only; killing one means working through 32 health (16 hearts).
The fastest way to win is to lean on what it fears: Smite enchantment and Healing splash potions.
A sword enchanted with Smite shortens the fight considerably against this mob.
The Camel Husk cannot be bred, so the only way to get more is to find them spawning naturally in their home biomes.
Once prepared it can be ridden, which makes it as much a means of transport as a creature to study.
As long as you avoid landing the first blow, you can usually go about your business near a Camel Husk without trouble.

There is no platform that produces camel husks. Arrives under a rider: a husk in the desert can turn up sitting on one, and that is the way you normally meet it. Anything you build has to feed that source instead of a dark floor.
Each kill is worth 1 to 3 experience and up to 3 rotten flesh, or 6 with Looting III, and that figure is what decides how big the camel husk farm has to be.

The camel husk was added in Minecraft 1.21.11, which came out on 9 December 2025, so the camel husk has been in the game for 0 years.
